Immuron and Hadasit are pleased to announce the completion of the acquisition of intellectual property (IP) by Immuron from Hadasit in the area of oral immuntherapies, and the establishment of Hadasit as the largest shareholder in Immuron, with a 19.99% stake. The initial applications of the technology platform associated with this IP will be type 2 diabetes, liver cancer (hepatoma), and hepatitis C.
Clinical trials are expected to start within the next 3 months
Hadasit is the technology transfer arm of Hadassah University Medical Centre which is the largest clinical research centre in Israel. It has a global reputation for excellent medical and scientific research.
Professor Yaron Ilan and his team at Hadassah have developed the concept of treating autoimmune and chronic diseases with orally delivered polyclonal antibodies, and Professor Yaron Ilan of Hadassah will serve as Immuron’s Medical Director. Immuron is a Melbourne based biopharmaceutical company with a commercialised technology platform for manufacturing bulk polyclonal antibodies that are suitable for oral delivery.

The joint effort, which is now possible, is capable of turning the concept of oral immunotherapy into a series of ”proof of concept” trials. From there it should only be a short journey to commercialisation if the trials are successful.
